Jewelry designer Regina Zorzi, based in New York City is known for her one of a kind pieces. Ms. Zorzi uses techniques from antiquity to inspire her contemporary creations. Her jewelry collections are a dialogue between nature and geometry. She enjoys the challenges and demands of the master craftsperson in the processes she uses such as chasing-repoussé and granulation. To this mix she adds the alchemy of color using vitreous enamels with the techniques of champlevé, basse-taille, and cloisonné. Ms. Zorzi feels her work must give emotional and symbolic meaning to what her collector treasures. Ms. Zorzi's designs have a living presence that will be cherished for generations.

As a native of Minas Gerais, a state of Brazil renowned for its colored gems and minerals, Ms. Zorzi seemed destined to pursue a career in jewelry. From an early age she displayed an interest in the crafts of knitting, crochet and embroidery, and in her teenage years her brother introduced her to the fabrication of costume jewelry. She moved to São Paulo, where she worked for several years with a large company in its Financial Department. During this time she returned to her creative interests and education with the study of photography.

Ever restless by nature, Ms. Zorzi followed her dreams to New York leaving Brazil in 1991. She worked as a Design Assistant with Dayne Duvall, where her work was featured in magazines including Mademoiselle, Essence, Spanish Bazaar and WWD. During this time her inquisitive nature led her to the study of the art of jewelry design and fabrication. In 1997 she established her own studio. During this time she received her Graduate Gemologist diploma from G.I.A. She has studied chasing-repoussé with Valentin Yoktov, granulation with Cecelia Bauer, enameling with Harlan Butt, Linda Darty, Sandra Kravitz, Sally Wright, and Kathy Wood.

Ms. Zorzi's work has been exhibited in the Unites States, Japan and Europe. She continues to work from her studio at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, in New York City, creating her one of a kind jewelry designs.
